The Industrial Engineering student chose Chile because she wanted to learn the language and be close to the ocean; and also live in a city with college environment.

As she reveals, she is fascinated with Universidad Santa María University, “the academic level of the university is very good; its grounds are beautiful and nothing compares to studying in front of the ocean”. “People are nice, I never studied Spanish before, that’s why the Chilean Spanish is not hard”, she adds.

Lorida expresses “I like the landscape and the weather of Chile. You can do anything you want here. One day you are in the amazing mountains of Cordillera de los Andes skiing, and the next day you are in the amazing waves of the Pacific ocean surfing” The Belgian student also visited Copiapó, the Tres Cruces National Park, San Pedro de Atacama, Pucón, Valdivia and Chiloe, and now she will visit the Parque Torres del Paine in the Chilean Patagonia.
