Mexico, 2017, Journalism, Universidad de La Serena

I chose Universidad de la Serena because I checked the program and it was the one that had more of what I was looking for. I checked the classes and was convinced. Also, before coming here I talked to a classmate who had previously travelled here. He told me what it was all about, how everything works and he assured me that I would like the university.

The city of La Serena has been good to me. I don’t know if it’s because I’m from another country, but everyone here has been so kind to me, so nice. They have always been willing to help me. So, it´s been excellent.

Regarding the academic aspect, some of the classes were, honestly, too easy. But others were so difficult, I feel like I learned the most in those, the ones that where hard on me. For me it was a completely new experience because journalism is just one class on my program, and here it´s an entire program. So it gave me some tools which I needed, that my university didn’t provide.
