My experience in Chile and La Serena was really good, since La Serena is a very quiet city, not as noisy as Santiago. I really like these types of town, because I can have some down time and there is not much pressure and crowds, generally speaking. Besides, people are so nice and helpful, which helped me get accustomed faster.
The classes here at Universidad de La Serena are so different from the ones I had in Germany since there are fewer students. At first I was having trouble with the language but my classmates were really kind and helped me every time I got stuck. For example, in my case, I chose a class from another program that I studied in Germany, from the Environmental Civil Engineering program, and I learned new things that broadened my horizons.
