The university also has 4 research institutes: Institute of Chemical and Applied Sciences, Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Law Research Institute and the Ibero-American Institute for Sustainable Development
For over 30 years we have trained students with a focus in student-centered, cross-sectional and lifelong learning education, as well as a strong sense of social responsibility in their professional practice. Study life is intense and intellectually demanding and we place great emphasis on independent and self-directed learning.
Quality assurance
Quality assurance is a key element for our institution, as it allows us to face academic globalization with worldwide known quality standards and it has enabled the university to successfully meet standards and criteria of government and international accreditation agencies.
The University has been accredited by the Chilean National Accreditation Commission (CNA) until October 2024, in the areas of Institutional Management, Undergraduate Teaching, Research and Outreach and Public Engagement, certified by ANECA – Spain, and accredited by AQAS according to criteria and guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).
It undertakes the challenge of evolving to a more complex higher education institution by boosting graduate programs and encouraging, promoting, guiding, and enhancing scientific and technological research.
